About Us

In the heart of London’s East End, The Premises has been the capital’s most popular music studio complex for twenty five years. The Premises now has fourteen high-spec, low-cost music studios for rehearsal and recording.

You’ll find yourself in the company of some of the most exciting musicians in the world at The Premises. Have a look at our Client List and see why everyone from Lily Allen to the Arctic Monkeys comes to The Premises

Recent Artists To Use Us

Recent names who’ve been working here recently include Leona Lewis and Jarvis Cocker (not together, you understand) and the great Charlie Haden Liberation Music Orchestra with Carla Bley, who prepped their Barbican gigs here. Soul legends Jerry Butler and The Impressions also passed through and blew us away. Stone Roses’ producer John Leckie has been in Recording Studio A as has Kevin Rowland with Pete Schweir producing; others in Studio A: Sarah Sayeed, Talvin Singh and The Puppini Sisters. Mix-meister Ashley Workman has been mixing hotly-tipped bands like Cults, Sparkadia and Metronomy in Studio B. Others in recently: Aussie hot-shots The Temper Trap, Jon Hopkins and King Creosote, Madness, The Kooks, Slow Club, Katy B, The Kills, Kate Nash, The Blockheads, Emmy The Great, Beardyman, Big Pink and Alex Winston. Phew, quite a line-up. And finally, MD Julia Craik put on her best frock and smile at The Roundhouse recently where The Premises Studios walked away with a coveted Music Week Award. Nice to be recognised as music’s Best Green Business. So thank you, one and all
