Why not organise a group of friends, family and/or colleagues and make it a social occasion?

Alternatively, if you ring me and describe exactly what you want I will sketch a design and send it to you for your approval.

This course is suitable for beginners or as a refresher course for those who are returning to sewing after a considerable time. The course is arranged in 4 blocks, each of which lasts for approx. 6 weeks, with a 3hour lesson each week. As all students work at their own pace the number of lessons required may vary. Each block deals with a particular garment. The lessons are booked for a term of 6 weeks and the cost for each term is £120.
The course looks at the equipment you will need, including a sewing machine. We then look at using commercial sewing patterns and the information you can get and interpret from the pattern and the envelope. You will then make a fitting sample, which is a fitted bodice with long sleeves and a straight skirt. This will give you a basic master pattern, which you will use to assess any alterations you will need to make to patterns you use in the future.
