Who We Are

Ragbourne Consulting is a firm of Actuaries, Independent Trustees and Financial Advisors. Established in 1977, we administer and advise on all aspects of pension schemes and provide actuarial services including those of a Scheme Actuary. This complements our Trustee Services and ensures that the practical aspects of actuarial and pensions expertise are fully up to date.

We provide comprehensive actuarial services, acting as Scheme Actuary, Associate Actuary and Pensions Consultants. We provide all associated actuarial calculations and valuations. Our aim is to provide our clients with a service that suits their requirements and is individual to them. We welcome “one offâ€? assignments and also provide regular services required by clients. The latter can be on a time charge basis or an agreed retainer.

Iain Walker has more than 30 years experience as an actuary in pensions, and is a Scheme Actuary. He has 10 years direct experience as a trustee and is on the OPRA Panel of Approved Trustees, and a member of the Pensions Management Institute (PMI) Independent Trustee Group. Iain’s specialty is the running of closed defined benefit/final salary pension schemes, and their wind up. In such cases he will act as Independent, or Sole Trustee. Iain is equally at home as a “Trustee on Boardâ€?. We have a very strong base of knowledge, and as a result, you will be confident that your Pension Scheme is in the right hands and/or you have a knowledgeable, truly professional, Trustee on Board, and working with you. Our independence is an added factor to gain your trust. Ragbourne Consulting will not provide any services to the scheme or related parties in cases where we are appointed as a Trustee.
