Equipped with five languages and a solid teaching background, Marina Bluemel and Eric Foex launched Foreign Language Services (FLS) into orbit in 1982 and have been at the control switches ever since - one reason, no doubt, why they still remain the exclusive language providers to their very first corporate clients. Over the past 22 years their portfolio of clients has grown steadily to include one of the largest financial institutions in the City of London, some giants from the world of insurance, oil exploration, commodity trading and the food industry, as well as the most respected human rights organization.

Our tutors, who are all native speakers, have been trained in the Communicative Approach, and their experience includes teaching at all levels of language ability, with special emphasis placed on the needs and requirements of business executives.

The Directors (visit our Tutors) seek regular feedback from each student and, as a consequence, develop staff through teacher training courses, seminars and workshops based on these findings. Years of experience have taught us that the Communicative Approach - encompassing varied methods and materials - is the fastest, most efficient, and therefore most efficient way of getting to grips with a language. A case study: intensive English training

Babamurad Muradov came from Turkmenistan. He knew that the growth of his international oil company depended on his ability to communicate in English. He therefore instructed his London office to book him on a language course. Shortly after his arrival, Mr. Muradov was assessed by the course coordinator and graded a 'beginner'. Our challenge was to elevate Mr. Muradov's ability in English from being unable to communicate or even read road-signs in the Latin alphabet to an operational level, which would allow him to express his own ideas, make telephone calls and start conducting business.The course was designed to offer psychological support, allowing the student to fall back on his native language during the first few days, as an important part of the confidence building process. The Result At the end of his training programme Mr. Muradov was able to socialize confidently and communicate with his London based colleagues in a professional manner.
