Pressure Vessels and Offshore Fabrications by Landon Engineering

Landon Engineering (Castle Works) Ltd founded in 1984 was set up to provide a quality service to local manufacturing companies. Over the years our commitment to quality has enabled us to gain vast experience in fabrications for the Power Generation and Associated Industries. Experience gained in this field, coupled with our highly skilled workforce of almost 50 and adaptable approach enables us to offer a service second to none across all industrial markets. At a time when 'lead-time' is a luxury, processing your order is fast and efficient with two Production Planners using our unique CAD/CAM package. Interactive profile nesting results in greater material utilisation, productivity and therefore reduced component costs.

Preparation shop facilities include:

** Dimensions: 12m wide x 60m long ** 10 tonne pendant controlled crane, 6m under hook ** 5 tonne overhead crane, 6m under hook ** 2 CNC controlled profile burners with pneumatic marking facility ** Plate rolls with capacity of 2500x10mm ** 250 tonne hydraulic press-brake ** 4 radial arm drills with reach of up to 6'6" ** Power feed cold saw ** Quick mitre head band saw ** Guillotine capacity of: 3000mm x 10mm ** Plazma cutting facilities up to 20mm stainless steel........................ We have formed partenerships with several local Machining Companies, allowing us to offer a full machining service, from the smallest boss right through to the Generator Bedplate shown here, weighing in at almost 30 tonne. We paint just about everything we produce, from 45 tonne transformer tanks to the smallest of brackets, using the latest airless high pressure equipment. We have experience with normal single pack solvent based paints as well as water based and 2-pack epoxy paints. Stockyard facilities: Stockyard material handling via a Lansing forklift truck with a lift capacity of 8 tonnes.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Quality Assurance is at the heart of all operations at Landon Engineering (Castleworks). We have held BS EN ISO 9002 approval for several years. All our workforce are aware of the importance of producing quality right from the receipt of the customers order. This quality is carried through to manufacture to ensure our customers in turn, offer a first class product. We employ a full-time Quality Manager who handles all aspects of quality. Responsibilities include: ** Preparation of weld procedures and welder qualifications to BS EEN287, 288 ** Preparation of data books ** Verification of material test certification ** Internal Audits ** Traceability One piece of steel looks pretty much the same as another, but we at Landon's, through our strict procedures have total traceability of all components, right down to the smallest boss. Our system allows us to obtain to material certification for every component on a fabrication for a period of 5 years from manufacture. Our shop floor Inspectors all hold PCN certification in MPI & DPI as well as CSWIP welding inspection.
