The world of Locks is now quite small with any new innovations becoming universally known almost before production. This contrasts sharply with the situation of 100 years or more ago, when Britain produced most of the design and worldwide manufacture. Now we have niche product from around the world, including Australia, Brazil, Japan, - even the UK. Most of our product is European and manufacturers are global conglomerates. This does mean a bewildering amount of choice, especially with the increasing use of Cylinder-based locks which provide much greater versatility for Master Keying and keying-alike. Even with the advent of electronic and biometric locking, most situations will still require a basic quality mechanical key lock to satisfy both security and Insurance needs. With nearly 40 years in the industry Ascot Locks can give you the best advice, for your situation.
Currently, we have licences for six registered key systems. One is a CHUBB RKS system applying to their Standard and High Security Mortise Locks. Three 'high security' rated cylinder systems from KABA Grundmann of Austria and UNION of the UK; and two 'extra high security' rated Cylinder systems from ABLOY of Finland. Each of these systems, which we build here at Ascot Locks, enable us to offer all the requirements of a comprehensive master key system or a single cylinder for a Mortise Lock or a Padlock. We maintain records of all restricted keys issued and can make additional keys to code. Records and blanks are stored in our vault. Registered keys, with specified authority, can provide the Customer with far greater key control and security. Where keys from another system are registered with a manufacturer, we can normally obtain copies or additional cylinders with Customer authorisation.
Safes range from tin cans to large Vaults and are designed to protect the contents from theft and fire. Obviously, some are more effective than others but discretion is the common factor. Many people have experienced the benefit of small hotel safes whilst away on business or on holiday and there are now models to suit every pocket. Insurance requirements often dictate a level of security and the Customers would do well to seek advice on suitable types and models. We have a broad selection in the showroom, usually between 50 or 60, with larger and reconditioned models being supplied direct. Most popular manufacturers are represented, including Alpha, Burg- Wachter, Burton, Churchill, Chubb, Dudley, Fichet-Bauche, Hamber, Mottura, Rosengrens Tann and Securikey.
